REPRO Gala 2026
REPRO Gala
This year’s theme is “Making REPRO History.” Join us on Friday, June 5th in Alexandria, VA to recognize the reproductive freedom trailblazers that have led us to this moment and celebrate what’s to come in the upcoming months.
Our Silent Auction page is LIVE! Whether or not you are able to attend this year’s gala, you can still bid for an item or experience online. All proceeds of our silent auction will be going towards our grassroots mobilization efforts and culture change programming through REPRO Rising Virginia Foundation. Donations are tax-deductible and will support activities such as our Positive Presence events, Student Advocacy Fellowship, and our Changing Minds Through Storytelling program.
Ticket sales are now officially closed! Outstanding sponsorship payments can be sent via online form or via mail with this printable form. You can become a sponsor or gather a group of folks you know to jointly purchase a table for our signature event of the year. House Majority Leader Charniele Herring
The theme of this year’s gala is “Making REPRO History,” and there is no one more fitting to address this theme and moment than Leader Herring. As the first woman and first Black-American to become House Majority Leader, she has consistently pushed boundaries and helped usher in a transformative chapter for our Commonwealth.
Leader Herring represents the 4th District in the House of Delegates, including parts of Alexandria and Falls Church. She has served as a Delegate since 2009. During her tenure, Leader Herring has been a stalwart champion for reproductive freedom and led the charge for the historic Reproductive Health Protection Act in 2020 that repealed FIVE of Virginia’s most egregious anti-abortion laws.
Her most notable and history-making reproductive rights accomplishment is patroning HJ1, the House version of the Constitutional Amendment for Reproductive Freedom. Working alongside Sen. Boysko, the amendment passed its constitutionally required second year in a row in January alongside the ballot language bill. The amendment now heads to voters this November.
Kaitlyn Joshua
We are on the cusp of “Making REPRO History.” As the future of reproductive freedom hangs in the balance, storytellers are a crucial pillar of our efforts to expand reproductive rights in Virginia. We are so excited to announce that we will be welcoming a special guest storyteller at this year’s REPRO Gala: Kaitlyn Joshua!
Kaitlyn Joshua is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a graduate of Southern University and A&M College. In 2022, while pregnant with her second child, Kaitlyn experienced miscarriage complications at 11 weeks. She sought care at multiple Baton Rouge–area hospitals but was denied treatment due to Louisiana’s abortion ban. Kaitlyn has been vocal about her experience.
Kaitlyn joined the Biden re-election campaign’s Reproductive Rights Tour, traveling nationwide to share her story. After the campaign transitioned, she co-campaigned with the Harris/Walz 2024 campaign, visiting over 20 states. Kaitlyn spoke at the 2024 Democratic National Convention and testified at a U.S. Senate hearing on reproductive rights. She was named Glamour Magazine’s Woman of the Year.
In late 2024, Kaitlyn co-founded the nonprofit organization Abortion in America to elevate the stories of people impacted by abortion care restrictions. She now focuses on amplifying the stories of women impacted by restrictions in the Deep South.
Senator Jennifer Carroll Foy
This year, the General Assembly wasted no time in taking action. With the Constitutional Amendment for Reproductive Freedom secured for the November ballot so early into the Legislative Session, REPRO Rising Virginia’s main advocacy focus shifted to securing birth control for the Commonwealth, pushing for the Contraceptive Equity Act and the Right to Contraception Act to finally be passed after two years of vetoes by Governor Youngkin. Several amazing legislators stepped up to carry these bills, and we wanted to highlight one of those patrons.
We are proud to announce we will be honoring the Senate patron of both the Contraceptive Equity Act and Right to Contraception Act, Senator Jennifer Carroll Foy, with our 2026 Aggie Wolf Defender of Reproductive Freedom Award at our 15th annual REPRO Gala!
Senator Jennifer Carroll Foy was elected to represent the voters of Senate District 33 in 2023, which covers parts of Prince William and Fairfax Counties. She was first elected to office in 2017 and served two terms in the House of Delegates. During that time, she gained national recognition for helping to lead the fight to pass the Equal Rights Amendment, making Virginia the 38th and final state needed to ratify the amendment.
In addition to patroning our birth control bills, Senator Carroll Foy played an integral role in securing language that reproductive freedom activists have been advocating for into the Constitutional Amendment for Reproductive Freedom. She has been tenacious and steadfast in her allyship and her staunch support of reproductive health, rights, and freedom.
Laura Gayton
For the last year, RRVA has actively been recruiting volunteers for our deep canvassing program in order to bolster our activist network and strengthen our outreach across the Commonwealth. These volunteers have been instrumental in our effort to change the conversation on reproductive freedom, one door knock at a time.
While we wish we could recognize every person who has participated in this crucial work, we wanted to honor someone who has shown steadfast commitment from the very beginning of our deep canvassing program. We would like to dedicate this year’s Volunteer of the Year Award to Laura Gayton!
After meeting her at an Our Bodies Our Choice meeting last year, our Southwest Virginia Canvass Organizer, Trey, recruited Laura to canvass with him. Ever since, she has knocked on over 400 doors!
Outside of her volunteer work with RRVA, Laura is a 42-year-old certified nurse-midwife, lactation consultant, mom of one daughter, and a long-time passionate advocate for reproductive justice and reproductive freedom. She was once a decade-long volunteer for Backline, now All-Options Talkline, before being swept into her career as a midwife.
