Sara Sanatkar brings years of organizing and field leadership to her role as the Field & Canvass Manager at REPRO Rising Virginia. Born and raised in Tehran, Iran, Sara has spent her life navigating and resisting political systems that seek to control bodies and silence voices, especially those of women. After immigrating to Sweden and later the U.S., she became deeply engaged in political organizing as a way to fight for freedom, dignity, and equity for every community.
Sara has led voter engagement and advocacy efforts across Virginia and nationally, holding key roles with Warren for President, Care in Action, and Verdugo Strategies. She specializes in building thoughtful, results-driven field programs that center human connection and shared values. Her leadership style is grounded in empathy, deep listening, and a fierce belief in the power of conversation to change minds and build movements.
Sara is passionate about organizing at the intersection of reproductive freedom, immigrant justice, and democratic participation. She lives in Virginia Beach and speaks English, Farsi, and Swedish. Sara holds a B.A. in Political Science from Old Dominion University.
