Oriella Mejia is a dedicated community advocate and is focused on enshrining reproductive rights for all in Virginia. A proud graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, Oriella has had a career rooted in service, engagement, and empowering communities across the Commonwealth.
Her career started in Public Health where she worked in free clinics as a Spanish medical interpreter, and worked alongside the Medical Reserve Corp of Virginia on the COVID-19 vaccination responses. From her public health experience she saw the need government had in having advocating for our needs.
Her career has gone on to included working throughout numerous levels of government over the years. She served in both the Virginia State Senate and in the U.S. Senate for Virginia Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, and later worked as an Advisor in the Biden-Harris Administration, where she contributed to initiatives that delivered wins for all Americans. She is honored to have had a career that has allowed her to help connect people with resources, strengthen community partnerships, and ensure that residents across Virginia have a voice in the decisions that affect their everyday lives.
