REPRO Rising Virginia Congratulates Vice President Kamala Harris on Historic Campaign

The Fight for Reproductive Freedom Continues in Virginia and Nationwide
Alexandria, Va. – Despite the devastating outcome of yesterday’s 2024 Presidential Election, REPRO Rising Virgina PAC stands proud to have endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in her presidential bid. She delivered a compassionate, hopeful message throughout her historic campaign that we can and should be proud of. The road ahead will be difficult, but we should follow Harris’ example of never giving up and never backing down when it comes to our values and for what is right.
Harris took a bold and unwavering stance on reproductive freedom and vowed to restore and expand reproductive rights. She centered those most impacted by draconian and punitive abortion bans and shone a light on what can and does happen when pregnant people are denied bodily autonomy. This undoubtedly helped pass seven of the 10 ballot initiatives that aimed to protect and advance reproductive freedom in several state constitutions around the country including Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, New York, Colorado, South Dakota, Montana, and Arizona.
While anti-abortion politicians will continue to push forward dangerous bans and restrictions on reproductive healthcare, REPRO Rising Virginia will continue to fight and meet them head on while working to pass our own Constitutional Amendment for Reproductive Freedom for all Virginians. Attacks on abortion, birth control, pre- and postnatal care, and fertility treatments will be at an all-time high. The fight does not stop here.
“The outcome of this election is devastatingly painful and disappointing. Vice President Harris was clearly the better candidate who had a positive and hopeful vision for America. Unfortunately, that was not enough to put her in the White House. However, we are excited about the energy around reproductive rights that brought a historic number of voters to the polls and granted so many Americans their rights back in key states around the country. Vice President Harris powerfully centered reproductive freedom throughout her tenure and during her campaign, and we plan to carry her message and momentum forward to amend Virginia’s constitution in 2026,” stated Tarina Keene, executive director of REPRO Rising Virginia. “This movement is and always has been bigger than one election. We will continue doing the work every day until reproductive freedom is a true reality for all.”
