Alex Gwynn
Richmond Community Organizer

Alex Gwynn

Alex Gwynn started working with REPRO Rising Virginia in January 2020 as the Richmond Community Organizer, where she is excited to continue doing work in her community that uplifts and empowers marginalized folks. In this role, Alex develops programming and events that both heighten awareness around reproductive healthcare access and fight stigma surrounding a person’s right choose when and how they start a family.

Alex is a native of Hampton Roads and moved to Richmond in 2011 to attend Virginia Commonwealth University. She graduated from VCU with a Bachelors in Social Work and a minor in Psychology in 2015. Since graduating, she’s been very active in her community: Alex teaches art and mentors youth with Oakwood Arts and Art 180, she is a practicing full-spectrum doula and member of the Richmond Doula Project and the Richmond Reproductive Freedom Project, and she manages her own freelance photography business (follow her at lexfourfotos on social media!)
